The Lambda Archives of San Diego's digital collection at California Revealed consists of moving images and audio recordings from the 1970s to present day. The recordings in this collection focus on the LGBTQ community in California and include tapes from Out in San Diego, an LGBTG+ radio program that aired on KPBS in the mid-1980s, as well as interviews from the Lesbian History Project, and a series of oral history interviews with prominent members of the LGBTQ community in San Diego.
The Oral History Project is a living project - we are constantly adding to it. In 2023-2024, we recorded narratives from members of the LGBTQ+ leather community as well as community members whose focus is on AIDS activism.
Currently, our Oral History Project is focusing on InterGenerational Stories that pair LGBTQ+ elders with LGBTQ+ youth to interview each other - an initiative supported through funding provided by Mental Health America.

The Haus of St. James Oral History Project
The photos included here were part of a California Humanities grant-funded project where oral histories were recorded with each of the members, both past and present, of the Haus of St. James. These oral histories were streamed during the opening reception for the exhibit, Reign of Revolution: the Haus of St. James Experience, held on Friday, October 11, 2024.
