Karen Vigneault was a Kumeyaay twin-spirit lesbian. First in her family to earn a degree, she received her Library and Information Sciences M.A. in 2008. As a member of the American Indian Library Association, she raises awareness among peers about Indigenous literature. In 2006, Karen was instrumental in leading efforts to re-establish the Nations of the Four Directions - a support and advocacy group for Indigenous and Two-Spirit LGBTQ+ people.
