Jess San Roque was the Executive Director of the Asian Pacific Islander Community AIDS Project (APICAP). APICAP was founded in 1993 to address the needs of Asian Pacific Islanders infected and affected by HIV. Among their many services was an API Peer Advocacy Program, which provided support, recreation and social opportunities, and home and hospital visits, and the Speakers Bureau, which advocated for the API community and raised HIV/AIDS awareness through public presentations.
