Francesca de VeraFrancesca de Vera (She/Ella) is a dedicated librarian and the Youth Engagement Coordinator for the San Diego Public Library. With nine years of experience in youth services, Francesca is a passionate advocate for intellectual freedom, access, equity, and inclusivity. She actively supports social justice initiatives, working to uplift BIPOC and queer/trans communities, and champions their "right to read" diverse literature that reflects their rich, intersectional experiences.
Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Francesca holds both an MLIS degree and a Master’s in American History from San Jose State University. Francesca is a proud and out trans woman of color who has lived as her authentic self for the past decade. Outside of her professional pursuits, she is an enthusiastic owl lover and enjoys exploring the stunning beaches and parks of San Diego in her free time. |
