Digitization projects are essential to Lambda Archives of San Diego’s mission of preserving and sharing LGBTQ+ history.
By digitizing photographs, letters, newspapers, and other archival materials, we ensure that the stories of our community—particularly those of historically marginalized and underrepresented groups—are accessible to researchers, educators, and future generations. Digitization not only protects fragile materials from deterioration but also makes it possible to share our history widely, breaking down barriers to access and fostering a deeper understanding of LGBTQ+ struggles, activism, and triumphs.
